BIGTREETECH KMS PCB Kit

The BTT KMS PCB Kit is a powerful, modular control set for multi-colour printing systems. Developed in collaboration with the KMS and Happy Hare open source projects, the kit enables seamless plug-and-play integration into existing multi-material setups - including Happy Hare V3 and Type-B systems.

High-precision control with STM32G0B1RET6

The integrated STM32G0B1RET6 32-bit microcontroller runs at 64 MHz and ensures:

• extremely accurate colour changes and material transitions
• fast response times in real time
• high operational reliability
• stable synchronisation of all connected modules

This gives you full control over your multi-colour unit.

Modular plug-and-print design

The kit is based on a consistent modular system that provides full flexibility. Each module is designed so that you can simply plug it in - no soldering, no configuration, no effort.

Expandable HUB for more modules

Want more than 4 or 6 filaments? No problem. The expandable HUB enables cascading to enable 8, 12 or 16 channels, depending on the setup. This makes your system versatile and expandable.

More stability thanks to redundancy

For maximum control, the kit offers extended security and redundancy functions:

• 6 + 6 end stop ports
• 4 + 4 driver ports

Some ports can be used alternatively to build a fail-safe system architecture. Simultaneous dual use is not provided, but switchover/backup is supported.

Optimum printing conditions at all times

The KMS PCB Kit ensures that the setup is always ready under the best conditions:

► integrated HTU21D sensor: a high-precision temperature and humidity sensor (±0.5 °C) that continuously monitors the internal environmental values. This keeps the filament and components in optimum condition.

► NTC connection for external sensors: A port for an NTC 100K temperature sensor allows you to record additional measuring points - ideal if you want to keep a closer eye on certain modules.

► Powerful MOSFETs: Support the connection of external heating modules for active filament drying. This reduces moisture, prevents blockages and increases print reliability.

Maximum system stability

This kit is designed to enable consistently stable, trouble-free colour changes:

► reduced signal interference: Shielding cables with MX3.0 ensure clean data and power transmission - for consistent multi-colour prints without dropouts.

► integrated, innovative sensor design: distance coding enables precise filament detection and prevents false readings during material changes

► Four TMC2209 drivers on board: Ultra-smooth, quiet running of motors with stable torque control. This ensures smooth shuttle movements and clean filament changes.

► Reliable trigger with dual-stage buffer: Optoelectronic signal processing across the entire chain ensures that every command is captured accurately and transmitted stably.

Robust protection - long-lasting performance

The KMS PCB Kit is based on a robust protection architecture that reliably protects all electronic components:

► Reverse polarity protection: built-in reverse polarity protection prevents damage caused by incorrectly connected voltage sources. This means that the system remains protected even in the event of accidental wiring errors.

► ESD protection: Special ESD circuits protect sensitive components from electrostatic discharges that can occur when modules are installed or removed.

This double layer of protection significantly increases the service life of the entire system and ensures that your multi-colour setup works reliably even in continuous use.
