colorFabb LW-PET Flex Natural is a lightweight, flexible filament made from amorphous coPET and TPU, with active foaming technology, adjustable density and high toughness. It sits between rigid lightweight filaments and very soft foaming materials, making it ideal for parts that need to bend while retaining their shape.

A balance between rigid and soft

Rigid materials can break easily, while very soft filaments can flex too much. LW-PET Flex combines strength, toughness and controlled flexibility. Printed parts handle deformation and impacts better than those made from rigid materials, while maintaining significantly greater structural stability than very soft filaments.

Adjust weight and softness

The material expands during extrusion, increasing its volume and reducing its density. Temperature, print speed and flow rate control the degree of foaming. Greater expansion produces lighter, more flexible parts, while higher density provides greater structural stability.

For parts that flex and absorb impacts

The filament is suitable for lightweight functional parts that need to bend, dampen vibrations or absorb occasional impacts. Applications include drones, RC components, lightweight enclosures, wearable components and cushioning structures. It is also an option for larger lightweight constructions where rigid materials would add too much weight.
