What is the LDO BoxTurtle ?

The LDO BoxTurtle is the ideal option for anyone looking for an AMS-like filament-changing function for their Klipper-based 3D printers. As an open-source automated system for easy filament changes, the BoxTurtle was specifically designed for seamless integration with Klipper to provide a user experience as close as possible to AMS – regardless of the printer model, with a particular focus on VORON printers.

The LDO BoxTurtle (LBT) is based on the original BoxTurtle design, but features several practical enhancements:

• Powerful LDO pancake motors ensure smooth and efficient movements,
• The included AFC-Lite board supports both CAN and USB connections, enabling flexible control.

Tip: The BoxTurtle is comparable to the AMS system, but even simpler. The system automatically changes the filament and doesn't require any extra parts, such as a selector or servos. Each compartment has its own motor that moves the filament independently and directly to the print head.
