The Silhouette AutoBlade makes your cutting process more efficient and convenient! Unlike standard blades, which have to be set manually, the AutoBlade automatically adjusts to the cutting height preset in the Silhouette Studio software. The durable high-performance tungsten alloy blade cuts with maximum precision and eliminates the need for tedious manual fine-tuning.
Tip: Although the software offers recommendations for cutting settings depending on the type of material, these can also be adjusted.

flimsy and unrelaible. just get the manual one
this blade came with my curio 2, and it's responsible for the majority of my early frustration with it. the internal construction is quite weak and failure-prone, the only thing "automatic" about it is that pressing down on the blade cycles it, it's almost entirely undocumented, and it has no indexing mechanism as far as i can tell so once it shifts, you'll be dealing with a lot of confusing behavior. it's an interesting attempt at making the cutter configure its own blade depth, but it's a half-baked product that should never have been released in this state.
you're likely here because your autoblade broke, since this is the default silhouette includes with all their machines. save yourself the trouble, don't buy this again.
i recommend the manual blade in either the 1mm ("premium blade") or 2mm ("deep cut blade") version instead of this. both are drop-in replacements capable of all the same cuts, and while yes, you have to manually dial them to the desired depth, they're both a million times more reliable than this flimsy thing.
