Stable mechanics as the basis for high repeatability

The ED1 housing is made from a one-piece cast aluminium body combined with high-strength moulded components. This floating construction reduces vibrations during machining and enables a milling accuracy of ±0.01 mm. Precision ball screws and linear guides are used for movement control, helping ensure smooth and quiet operation.

Spindle with minimal runout for the finest details

The milling spindle reaches speeds of up to 18,000 rpm and operates with a runout of less than 1 micrometre. This low value is designed to support the machining of micro-holes and threads. Combined with a feed rate of up to 3,000 mm/min, the spindle is built for continuous material removal.

Automatic tool changing for uninterrupted processes

An integrated ATC system (Automatic Tool Changer) with five tool slots changes milling cutters automatically during operation. This eliminates manual stops during multi-stage machining, increasing efficiency and reducing positioning errors that can occur when tools are changed by hand.

Rotary axis for cylindrical and contoured workpieces

An A-axis with Harmonic Drive gearing allows rotationally symmetrical or contoured objects to be machined. The gearbox is designed to provide smooth operation without play, helping contours on curved models remain even and consistent.

Dust protection and low-maintenance operation

A flexible steel belt combined with a labyrinth-style housing design prevents milling residue from entering the mechanics. A generously sized chip collection box makes cleaning easier after operation. Up to seven high-precision photoelectric limit switches also help maintain consistent positioning accuracy during repeated processes.

Monitoring and safety features

An integrated 720p HD camera with Wi-Fi connectivity transmits the machining status to the app in real time. An easily accessible emergency stop switch on the side of the housing provides an additional safety measure during milling operation.

AI-assisted software with local and remote control

The accompanying app offers an AI-based layout function that automatically generates milling templates from text prompts or image files. A cloud library with ready-made designs is also available. The ED1 can be controlled either directly or remotely via the app, including status monitoring. Regular OTA updates expand the machine’s functionality over time.

Material versatility for a wide range of applications

The ED1 can process more than 30 different materials, including wood, acrylic, leather and metal. The 300 x 200 x 120 mm working area is suitable for everything from delicate jewellery pieces to functional components and personalised lettering on plaques or nameplates.
