The SuperVolcano block is designed to meet your high-speed printing needs. It offers 11 times the volume flow of the V6 HotEnds from E3D. The SuperVolcano is a full member of the E3D ecosystem and can be used with V6 or octopus heat breaks from E3D and heat sinks and heat breaks integrated in Lite6.

High temperature

The SuperVolcano is supplied as standard with a block of nickel-plated copper so that it can be operated safely with the matching 80 W heating cartridge. These blocks are designed for ultimate high-temperature performance. Made from a special high-temperature copper alloy with a softening point of well over 500 ° C (compared to aluminium blocks that lose integrity from 350 ° C) and a greatly increased thermal conductivity, these copper blocks are ideal for high-temperature applications of everyday filaments such as PLA, ABS and Co.


In addition to high-temperature resistance, these blocks have an advanced nickel-based coating that significantly reduces the adhesion of plastic to the block. This is ideal for everyday filaments to keep the nozzle clean and shiny. However, it is particularly important at temperatures above 300 ° C where a silicone sock cannot be used.

Glass fibre tubing

To support the SuperVolcano's thermal performance, a piece of high-temperature fibreglass tube replaces the normal sock. The tube insulates the block and keeps the heat inside. This hose withstands continuous operating temperatures of 260 ° C and can be even higher.


The HotEnd may only be handled when the printer is switched off and the power cord is unplugged. The SuperVolcano block stays hot longer than other hot ends, so the system has to cool down longer. The SuperVolcano sock is made of a glass fibre coated with silicone rubber. Protective clothing must be worn when handling.
