What is LokBuild

LokBuild is the ultimate printing film for FFF / FDM 3D printers. It is a long-lasting alternative to traditional adhesives.

LokBuild can easily be cut to the required shape and size of the construction area of your 3D printer. LokBuild is made from uniquely structured panels that can be easily attached to your construction panel using heat-resistant adhesive.

LokBuild replaces the use of bluetapes or polyimide films such as Kapton tapes. It is made of heat-resistant materials to provide a stable surface for your models, while finished models can be easily removed.

Installation

1. Wipe the build platform clean.
2. Adapt the LokBuild film to the shape and size of your building board. This can easily be done with normal household scissors or a craft knife.
3. Apply the LokBuild film to the building board. Start from one side and work your way to the other side. Smooth the film.
4. Adjust the nozzle height of the printer and check that the surface is flat.

How to clean the Lokbuild film:

The permanent printing film does not normally have to be cleaned often. If you do so, please use alcohol wipes or similar (low isopropyl content). Do not use acetone or anything else with a high isopropyl content as this will damage the surface.

Nozzle calibration

LokBuild is much easier to set nozzle height than some other products and doesn't require that much accuracy. However, there will be an optimal nozzle height for the material and printer you choose.

The key to a good nozzle height is experimentation. It is recommended to start further away from the building board than on other surfaces and then reduce the nozzle height slightly until the print sticks to the LokBuild film.

The large number of printers and materials makes it impossible to give exact printing parameters, but a good starting point for the nozzle height would be between 0.20 mm and 0.25 mm.

Remove the finished models

In most cases, you can cleanly remove the 3D prints with minimal effort. For some models with larger contact areas, a spatula can be helpful.

TIP: When printing with a print bed heated above 100 ° C, it is recommended to cool the surface before removing the models. This extends the life of your LokBuild film
