Description

Advantages of HiPS:

HiPS plastic is similar to ABS when it comes to its high strength and resilience. Technical components are often composed of this lightweight and high-quality material. HIPS has a lower grade of toughness than ABS and is thus more fragile when subjected to impact.

HiPS can be just as easy to process as ABS, has a slightly better flow behaviour than ABS and can therefore be printed at a slightly lower temperature.

Upon cooling, HIPS shrinks similar to that of ABS. The greater the temperature difference and the more rapid the decreases in temperature, the more HIPS distorts. We therefore recommend using a heated bed. The pressure plate is best preheated at 70-100 °C.

HiPS is soluble in lime and therefore suitable as a material for support structures.
