Description
HIPS (High Impact Polystyrene) - is a material with high impact resistance. This material is as easy to print as PLA, but has similar properties to ABS. The added benefits of HIPS over ABS are less temperature shrinkage and less toxic odours during printing. HIPS printed models are dull, smooth and can be mechanically reworked. HIPS can serve as a substrate for ABS because it is soluble in concentrated citric acid (D-Citric Acid).
HIPS-X advantages:
- High surface hardness
- Scratch resistance
- Impact resistance
- Finished model has a matte surface
- Low density
- Completely soluble in D-Citric Acid
Packaging
The filament is wound up on a clean, transparent spool. Each spool contains information about the type of material, the diameter and the recommended printing temperature. The filament is vacuum-packed with a desiccant. A user manual is also included in the packaging.

Surprisingly nice
I like this stuff, it prints kinda like ABS but the white is very pure and it feels a lot more light weight. The layer adhesion was pretty good and I was able to make a nice version of the Moon lamp with it that feels tougher than if I made it from PLA
