Description
Protopasta Quantum Dots HTPLA is an exceptional filament that delivers a truly special optical effect thanks to integrated quantum dot technology. In normal light, the material appears almost translucent, while under 365 nm black light, UV-A, it glows in an intense fluorescent shade. This opens up entirely new creative possibilities, from eye-catching decorative objects and cosplay effects to science-inspired models.
Based on HTPLA, this filament offers not only its striking visual effect, but also improved temperature resistance compared with classic PLA. With optional heat treatment after printing, parts can be further stiffened and their heat deflection resistance increased. Ideal for functional models or small batches that need to remain stable under light heat exposure.
Tip: For the strongest possible glow effect, using a 365 nm UV-A light source is recommended. Classic black light with a different wavelength may also produce an effect, but the most brilliant and colour-intensive results are achieved with a 365 nm lamp.
