Fun build but....
I purchased the kit as a self-gift during Black Friday 2024. The build was fantastic, and I gained a lot of knowledge. I also experimented with heat-set inserts for the first time, which was an interesting experience. The included LDO instructions were straightforward, so I have no complaints about that.
However, I’ve encountered a few problems. Initially, the extruder tool board was defective. 3D Jake assisted me, but the wait for the replacement part was excessively long (3-4 weeks).
After receiving the replacement, I believed I had a functional printer, but then the extruder began leaking, which is a known issue. Once more, 3D Jake provided support, but I’m still waiting for the replacement part. It’s March 2025, and I’ve already been waiting three weeks. Five months later, all I have to show is a rather disappointing 3dbenchy.
** EDIT **
I wanted to just update this review. I left it hanging I feel and perhaps there was a degree of frustration coming through.
So....
I have now had my positron running for sometime having replaced all those faulty parts. If I had a better out of the box experience then my review would have been more positive. The faulty parts have been replaced and I have some time to push filament through it. After calibrating it and creating a profile I have to say it does a great job. The portability was a key factor for and I am super pleased.
