Description

nobufil PLAx LW is a foaming PLA filament for lightweight parts, offering a matt finish, low warping and adjustable density. Based on the impact-modified PLAx formula, it contains a foaming agent that activates in the hotend to produce significantly lighter parts.

Turn up the heat, bring down the weight

At typical PLA printing temperatures of around 200 °C, the filament behaves like conventional PLA. Increase the nozzle temperature to approximately 230 to 250 °C and the foaming agent activates, expanding the material to twice its original volume. As the same amount of material now produces more volume, you can reduce the flow rate in your slicer to as low as 50%. The result is extremely lightweight parts that retain their strength.

Matt finish, easy post-processing

The matt surface conceals layer lines almost completely. Printed parts are also easy to finish and paint, often the next step when making models, armour and props.
