Recreus PP3D GF is a composite material specially developed for FFF and FGF 3D printing technologies, which consists of polypropylene and glass fibres and thus combines the advantages of both materials. While polypropylene, as a durable thermoplastic, is characterised by high impact strength, good resistance to chemicals and low density, glass fibres score points as a reinforcing material with high tensile and flexural strength.
This superb composite is the result of a collaboration between Recreus and Repsol. The result: optimised strength and durability combined with high mechanical resilience! All in all, the material is characterised by high mechanical strength and flexural strength, good chemical resistance, low density, high wear resistance and excellent resistance to moisture and corrosion. Its extraordinarily good properties make it interesting for countless technical and other industrial applications in the manufacture of machine parts, construction structures or prototypes. The most common areas of application are Automotive, engineering, construction, aerospace, sports equipment manufacturing, shipbuilding, electronic parts manufacturing, hydraulics, etc.
Compared to other traditional glass fibre polypropylene filaments on the market, the surface of Recreus PP GF is more matt and smooth. The material is also more flexible than PLA or ABS, for example.
Note: Recreus recommends using adhesives for better adhesion on the heatbed as PP GF has low adhesion.
