Oops, Snapmaker did it again! With the J1s, the company is launching a new ultra-fast IDEX 3D printer. While the user-oriented dual extruder printer impresses with almost the same features as its predecessor the J1, the J1s has been adjusted and optimised in a few points.

Differences J1s in comparison to J1:

► New cooling: The cooling fan of the J1s uses a narrow fan channel to cool prints at high speed while lowering the ambient temperature during the printing process;

► Pre-installed doors and side panels for faster start-up.


IDEX system for high-speed printing

Unlike most 3D printers on the market, which are equipped with a single extruder, J1s uses two independently operating print heads that can perform two prints simultaneously. In doing so, the printer achieves a max. print speed of even 350 mm/s and a max. acceleration of an unbelievable 10 000 mm/s²!

Robust construction for high-quality prints

J1s is designed for high-speed printing with its robust all-metal construction. The main body of the IDEX printer is formed by a top frame, a one-piece die-cast base and 4 sturdy aluminium alloy rods.

The frame of the J1s features outstanding robustness, rigidity and precision. The aluminium alloy bottom structure ensures greater heat dissipation as the motherboard and power supply are located on the base. High-precision, micrometre-level CNC-ground linear rails and precision-engineered transmission belts ensure smooth movements, achieving industry-grade, high-quality prints.

Enclosed housing with stable internal temperatures and low noise

The J1s sealed enclosure ensures that no heat is lost, minimising the risk of warping materials such as ABS or nylon. With a noise level of 45 dB, printing operations in the closed housing are much quieter and more pleasant to the outside world!

Vibration compensation for more stability during printing

Thanks to a special vibration compensation technology, vibrations caused by extremely high speeds are effectively reduced. This not only minimises ringing but also improves print quality.

Printing temperatures of up to 300 °C

The J1s heating block, which can withstand temperatures of up to 300 °C, enables easy processing of high-temperature filaments such as nylon, reinforced nylon and PC. The heating block is equipped with a silicone cover, which on the one hand prevents heat from being lost and on the other hand ensures that filaments heat up and melt more quickly.

Dual Direct Drive Extruder with Intelligent Filament Sensor

The Dual Direct Drive Extruder provides outstanding extrusion accuracy and high responsiveness even with flexible filaments.

An intelligent filament sensor detects faults such as filament breakage or clogged nozzles, alerts you to them and automatically stops the print job.

Print Cooling Fan

The J1s is equipped with a special cooling fan. This uses a narrow fan channel to supply fresh air to a large print area. This ensures that the printed models are cooled quickly, even at top speeds, and that ambient temperatures are lowered.

The cooler is convenient because, unlike the J1, you no longer need to remove the cover when printing with materials such as PLA.

User-friendly touchscreen

The intuitive and extremely user-friendly 5-inch touchscreen has a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. It supports file preview, calibration and changing printer settings without having to use the slicer software. With 4 print modes.

Easy calibration

Calibrating an IDEX-3D printer manually can be a laborious and lengthy process. The J1s offers an intelligent and fully automated solution for precise calibration - the Z-Offset Calibration. Both extruders can complete the calibration within a very short time by touching the heating bed, which contains built-in electric blocks. To do this, follow the instructions on the touchscreen and turn the thumbwheel of the right extruder!

PEI glass plate and tool-free bed levelling

A specially manufactured PEI glass plate ensures excellent adhesion of the models. While one side of the plate is made of glossy glass with a smooth surface, the other side of the build plate is covered with a PEI coating. Both sides guarantee excellent adhesion and easy removal of the printed models.

The build plate is automatically levelled. All you have to do is follow the instructions on the touch screen.

Two independent print heads for different materials/colours

As a dual-extruder printer, the J1s allows parallel printing of two different objects, as well as printing a multi-part model as a whole. In addition, two-material printing is supported, combining two materials with different mechanical properties.

This is where breakable and dissolvable support materials and structures come into play. When a material is combined with dissolvable PVA, stronger support structures and clean interfaces are created - these can be removed effortlessly, which significantly minimises the post-processing process.

Mirrored printing, standby, backup and copy modes

The J1s has extremely practical features:

  • Mirrored printing: Mirrors the original and prints the mirrored model.
  • Copy mode: Prints two identical objects simultaneously (e.g. stamp printing).
  • Backup mode: allows printing to continue even if one extruder cannot print due to an unforeseen malfunction. In this case, the second extruder automatically takes over the print job and finishes the print model!
  • Standby mode: In standby mode, the non-working extruder heats up and takes over the print job from the working extruder as needed without delay. The process of switching from working to non-working extruder is very smooth!

With just a few clicks you can prepare your 3D models for printing - via Snapmaker's free slicer software! Its well-designed parameters and settings are not only suitable for beginners, but also for professional users! A preview of the G-code allows you to view your 3D models even before they have been printed.
