SnapSwap™ – Toolhead change in 5 seconds
The Snapmaker U1 takes multi-material and multicoloured 3D printing to a new level. Instead of a traditional filament change, it uses the innovative SnapSwap™ system: Four tool heads are loaded and preheated simultaneously, each with its own filament. Changing the tool head is done directly and takes only 5 seconds - without long waiting times or time-consuming cleaning processes.
Significantly less filament waste
The innovative U1 system significantly reduces material waste. While conventional multicolour printers waste large amounts of fresh filament through "flushing" processes, the U1 removes only the minimum amount of material that is technically necessary. This can save up to 80% of filament waste per print.
Precise locking of the tool heads without compromise
The tool heads are precisely positioned and securely locked via steel ball-based kinematic couplings. Without screws, magnets, or additional motors, each tool head sits reproducibly in its exact position.
Four extruders, maximum material freedom
With four independent extruders, the Snapmaker U1 offers maximum flexibility. Colours, materials, and support filaments can be freely combined, ensuring that each component has precisely the properties it needs – from functional parts to easily removable support structures.
Automatic calibration for perfect layers
Intelligent calibration algorithms synchronise all toolheads, compensate for offsets with an accuracy of less than 0.04 mm, and prevent height misalignment between the toolheads. This is complemented by automatic mesh bed levelling for a uniform, high-adhesion first layer.
Clean surfaces even at high speeds
For consistent print quality, even during fast movements, the U1 relies on advanced control algorithms. Input Shaping reduces vibrations and prevents ghosting, while Pressure Advance precisely controls the material flow during changes in direction – for smooth walls, sharp edges, and fine details!
CoreXY system with speeds up to 500 mm/s
The CoreXY motion system with lightweight, rigid carbon fibre X-axes enables printing speeds of up to 500 mm/s without compromising precision. The build volume of 270 x 270 x 270 mm remains consistently accurate and stable.
Intelligent filament management
An integrated, automatic filament management system holds up to four spools. Filaments are loaded automatically, official Snapmaker filaments are recognised via RFID, and in backup mode, the printer automatically changes filaments when a spool is empty – for uninterrupted printing without manual intervention!
Convenient control & monitoring
The Snapmaker U1 is controlled via Snapmaker Orca, based on Orca Slicer and enhanced with specially tailored profiles. Combined with the Snapmaker app, you can start, monitor, and control prints – even remotely. Time-lapse recordings document your projects, while a comprehensive sensor system detects printing errors early.
Intelligent fault detection via camera
The integrated build chamber camera automatically detects typical printing errors, such as spaghetti prints or obstacles in the work area and warns you in time. This protects your prints, your materials, and your time – making the Snapmaker U1 a reliable production tool for demanding projects!

The perfect color 3d printer
I gought this printer as a complement printer for multicolor pla printing minimize the waste and save printing time. I viewed several test on youtube and have some doubt on the printer but I wanted to try it out. I have to say so far teh printer is perfect. No mistakes at all. Printing quality is excellent! I have Bambu H2d as well and it ipossible to identify which modell printed on the gBambu and which is printed on U1. The assembly took half hour and it really easy to complete. It has brilliant manual which guide you trough the whole process with pics so for teh beginners are also easy to make it complete. The printer came with 4 0,5kg roll of filament. That is really uniq nowdays! even the 3.000Eur bambu printer hasnt provide filament to test the printer is a shame. So far ZERO defect/errors experienced. it just run smooth. :)
